Had a pop at lure fishing for the third time on Sunday, no joy. Had a few follows but no takers.
Fished the The Basin, Blackbrook St.Helens, as this is a small water with a lot of small pike feel its wise to make a start with this size of water which holds a lot of Jack pike. Had one out a couple of months back about 5lb. Saw two fish follow but couldn't get a take. Fished a soft bait lure and also hard lures. Covered the whole water but struggled to catch. Fished noon up to 4.00 so thought I'd switch to Carr Mill Dam, which is a large lake. Spent a few hours but only got around a third of the lake covered. Didn't get any interest but determined to have some success on this water, feel deadbaiting will prove more successful here.
Planing a session on the Dig Pit this coming Friday evening after work, also if time allows may pop to Carr Mill and have a pop down the Arches end. Hopefully with a little more success.
